Feb. 10, 2012: Tour de Palm Springs

Tour de Palm Springs slideshow

Twenty-eight members of the CSBG prevailed over high winds and blowing sand to successfully complete their respective rides in the 2012 Tour de Palm Springs, our largest turnout ever for this event. Sixteen completed the century (102 miles: Jim K., Linda, Jim M., Kathy, Tim, Susie, Joan G., Tom V., Tom S., Peter, Chuck, Mickey, Larry O., Beth, Marv, John C.), 7 completed the metric (65 miles: Joan P., Dennis H., Joe and Mel Bertone, Marion, Barbara, Eugene), and 5 completed the 25-mile route (Jack M., Susan L., Jen, Dorothy, Mel B.). {View slideshow}

Many of us stayed at the quaint and charming Villa Royale Inn about a mile from the starting line. Happy hour at poolside on Friday was followed by dinner at either Al Dente, Thai Smile, or Sherman’s Deli & Bakery. On Saturday, another happy hour (do we see a pattern here?) was followed by a fabulous dinner at the Inn’s Europa Restaurant.

High winds, blowing sand, food, drink, and tons of fun. Congratulations to all the riders!
